Front Office Assistant

What you need to know about this position:

• Our Surgical Services Line is home to 13 Operating Rooms and 4 Endoscopy Center Suites, conducting a combined 10,000+ procedures per year. Our procedure specialties include but are not limited to Bariatrics, Urology, Orthopedics, Gynecology, OB, Gastrointestinal, Cardiovascular, Pulmonary and Vascular. Our Surgical Services team is focused on creating an excellent experience for our patients and their families by providing the right care, at the right place, at the right time.
• This position provides administrative support specifically to the IU Health Cardiovascular physicians and IU Health Cardiovascular Surgery practice through our partnership with IU Health.
• This position is responsible for the performance of all front office medical receptionist duties and requires the use of multiple patient health information system. The position will require the ability to work on dual systems – IU Cerner and CRH EPIC.
• This position will provide back up to the OR scheduler.
• The base hourly rate for this position is $15.89. Individual compensation is determined for this position through years of directly relevant experience. The hourly compensation is only a portion of the total rewards package, and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.
• In this position you would be scheduled to work full time, Monday through Friday, 7:00AM-3:30PM, but we can be flexible with daily work hours.

What is required for this position:

Education and/or Experience

• High school diploma required.
• A minimum of three years related experience and/or training in a physician office setting or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, procedure and diagnosis coding may be considered.
• Knowledge of insurance and pre-certification is preferred.

Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Valid Indiana driver's license
