Job Description:

Be responsible for the care of newborn infants, attending high risk deliveries, and stabilizing any high risk or preterm infants. Provide subsequent care and management of newborns meeting level two nursery status or appropriate transfer to higher level of care. Care for pediatric patients admitted to pediatric unit and provide consultation as needed by emergency physicians. Perform physical examinations using appropriate medical equipment, instruments, and tests; obtain medical history and documentation; and instruct patients and their parents regarding diagnosis, medications, and treatments. Perform procedures as necessitated by the patient’s condition, order or perform various tests and analyses to provide information on the patient’s condition, and diagnose the patient’s condition based on exams, tests, and reports. Assess patients who have had a change/ deterioration in status. Make rounds on all acute care units during shift and work with the nursing staff to address the medical needs of patients.

Job Requirements:

1. Doctor of Medicine degree (M.D.), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree (D.O.), or its foreign equivalent.
2. Completion of a three (3) year residency program in Pediatrics.
3. Current and valid Physician License from the State of Indiana.
4. Board certified or Board eligible in Pediatrics.
5. Must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
