What you need to know about the Accountant position:

  • The Financial Services Department focuses on distributing timely, accurate financial statements as well as other analyses and projections to help management make decisions about the direction of the health system. We also process payroll and AP.
  • The Accountant is responsible for analyzing, compiling and reconciling data required for annual Medicare cost report and wage index.
  • This role coordinates and facilitates audit and desk reviews, maintains well organized supporting schedules and documentation.
  • This position will apply principles of accounting to maintain general accounting systems in an organization. Assist in the preparation of financial and operating reports, payroll and accounts payable. This position does not provide direct patient care.
  • The Accountant position has a base rate of $27.93. Individual compensation is determined for this position through years of directly relevant experience. The hourly compensation is only a portion of the total rewards package, and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.
  • This position will require you to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, 40 hours per week.

What is required for this position:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Accounting from four-year college or university and one to two years related experience and/or training.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to resolve problems when identified.

  • Ability to work well independently and in a team environment remotely

  • Must be proficient in Excel

  • Background in cost report preparation, payroll or hospital payor reimbursement is a plus

  • Ability to grow within the position to handle more complex subject areas of the Medicare cost report, to
    understand government payor reimbursement, and be a source for reimbursement analysis/projects.
