What you need to know about the Epic Systems Engineer – Senior position:

  • The Information Services Infrastructure department focuses on supporting all servers, storage and databases necessary to support CRH information systems.
  • The Epic Systems Engineer – Senior position will provide technical assistance to application analysts and technical liaison to various IT Infrastructure teams such as Architect System Administration, and Architect Networking Engineering. This position does not provide direct patient care.
  • As an Epic Systems Engineer – Senior, you will be responsible for installation/configuration, operation and support of systems hardware and software related infrastructure, focusing on design, implementation, maintaining high availability, performance, and security of Windows and virtual host based systems for the Epic EMR system and other ancillary integrated systems.
  • This position is also responsible for managing urgent and complex issues by setting customer expectations, devising and implementing action plans, being available as required and professionally communicating to all parties involved and maintaining upgrades for client server, database and storage environments by planning and performing assigned tasks and will frequently manage or coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, managing and providing day-to-day operational support for client server, database and storage environments.
  • The Epic Systems Engineer – Senior position has a base rate of $39.12 per hour annualized to $81,369.60 and is commensurate with experience.
  • This position will require you to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with an on-call rotation. Remote work available.

What is required for this position:

  • Education and/or Experience
    • Bachelor’s degree in System/Computer Technology and/or a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in administration, upgrading and maintenance of medium to large VMware and other virtualization demonstrating progressive capabilities, or an equivalent combination of education & experience required.
    • Minimum 5 years of experience as Epic Client Systems Administration (ECSA) required.
    • Experience with the following technologies preferred: LRS VPSX, VMWare NSX, VMware Horizon App Enterprise, RDSH and VDI.
    • Experience with current Internet Technologies and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, XML, HTTP, DHTML and Application Servers) required.
    • Management, Tuning, Configuration, etc. Experience with healthcare data is strongly preferred
  • Certifications, Licenses, Registrations
    • Valid Indiana driver's license required.
    • ECSA101 Epic Client Systems Administration – Hyperspace Certification required.
    • ECSA102 Epic Client Systems Administration – BLOB, Business Continuity Access, and Printing Certification required.
    • ECSA105 Epic Client Systems Administration Hyperspace Web, Interconnect, and System Pulse Certification required.
    • ECSA110 Epic Client Systems Administration – MyChart Certification preferred.
    • ECSA115 Epic Client Systems Administration – Care Everywhere Certification preferred.
    • Microsoft and VMWare preferred.
