What you need to know about the Cafe Cashier Server position:
- The Food and Nutritional Services department focuses on providing delicious and appropriate nutritional care to our patients and excellent food and customer service to our customers, peers, staff and visitors.
- As a Café Cashier Server, you will be responsible for preparing food, stocking, serving, and charging cafeteria customers in a courteous, professional manner, participating on the Dining Pavilion team, cash handling, taking part in Quality Improvement initiatives as appropriate, completing mandatory in-services and continuing education. Customers of this position are cafeteria customers that range in age from toddler to the elderly. This position does not provide direct patient care.
- The Café Cashier Server position has a base hourly rate of $16.16. Individual compensation is determined for this position through years of directly relevant experience. The hourly compensation is only a portion of the total rewards package, and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.
- This part-time position will require you to work 24 hours per week, Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 11:00am-7:30pm, with a weekend and holiday rotation.
What is required for this position:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; taste or smell; and push or pull. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Must be able to push a cart holding 500 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
