What you need to know about this position:

  • The Certified Oncology Data Specialist position performs a variety of tasks associated with the collection and abstraction of medical records to report data into cancer registry software according to the America College of Surgeons- Indiana State Cancer Registry guidelines. Data collected provides essential information to researchers, healthcare providers, and public health officials to better monitor and advance cancer treatments, conduct research, and improve prevention and screening programs.
  • This position works closely with physicians, nurses, patients, families, department staff to provide support for the Cancer Center development, ensuring compliance of reporting standards, and serves as a valuable resource for cancer information with the ultimate goal of prevention and controlling cancer.
  • The hourly range for this position is between $23.08 and $34.59. Individual compensation is determined for this position through years of directly relevant experience. The hourly compensation is only a portion of the total rewards package and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.
  • This part-time position will require you to work 2 10-hour days, between Monday and Friday, each week. This position is 100% remote.

What is required for this position:

Education and/or Experience

  • Associate's Degree required.
  • Three months experience preferred.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations

  • Oncology Data Specialist Certified (ODS-C) through the National Cancer Registrars Association (NCRA) required.
