Congratulations to Courtney Wenning, a medical assistant at MyCare Family Med, on receiving a Poppy Award! 😍

Below is Courtney’s nomination from a grateful patient:
“I had to have blood work drawn, and the person who initially was going to draw my blood was under training, and I am a big baby when it comes to needles. The person who was training understood immediately, and drew my blood instead. Not only was she professional and kind, as was the trainee, who was also understanding, but the trainer got my blood on the first stick, talked to me, and reminded me to breathe. She was definitely outstanding, and I would love for her to be acknowledged or at least told that she is appreciated. Thank you.”

Congratulations to Lisa Hammond, RN for being our latest Daisy Award honoree.

Her nomination reads:
"My brother went to the Emergency Room for shortness of breath, chest pains, and mental health issues. Lisa went above and beyond and explained every step of what she was doing to help my brother. She helped lower his anxiety about everything that was happening around him. She stuck by his side through the whole 10 hours that we were in the Emergency Room.

"She was constantly asking him if he was okay. She relayed test results and read them to him in a way he understood what they meant. My family and I appreciated it. Lisa is the epitome of what a nurse should be.

"She helped make the visit pleasant and easy for my brother and I. Lisa, if you get this, you are amazing! Thank you for everything you do for each and every one of your patients. You are an angel!”

Thank you, Lisa, for exemplifying The Way We Care through your Commitment to Caring for patients!

If you would like to recognize a CRH employee for going above and beyond, visit our website careers.crh.org/about-us/workforce-recognition/ to submit your nomination.

Congratulations to Brittany Schoen on receiving a 🏅 Poppy Award 🏅!

Britt received the award while working at CRH Gastroenterology as a scheduler. She now works in Central Scheduling. Below is her nomination from a grateful patient:

“When going to a very busy GI practice, it is a joy to find a worker like Britt Schoen, who exhibits kindness and efficiency while working with a busy front office that handles its new orientees, families with small children, and lots of seniors who look lost. Britt is in the back office greeting people referred from the front desk with her big smile, offering encouragement and finding solutions as her fingers fly over computer keys expediting information to the medical team in a way that makes best use of their time without failing to convey anything that they may need. She sets up referrals as needed and makes the clients feel validated and cared about. How she does it all, no one knows. She is amazing and a highly deserving recipient of the Poppy Award.”

If you have a recognition you would like to share about a staff member at one of our physician offices, go to www.surveymonkey.com/r/TulipsforTechs and add your nomination.

Congratulations to our newest🏅 Poppy Award 🏅 recipient, Front Office Specialist Grant Young!

Read his nomination from a coworker:
“I have known Grant since 2020, and I've interacted with him at the main campus, the COVID vaccine clinic, and now as a front office specialist. Grant has always stood out to me for his dedication and kindness towards everyone he meets.

"Recently at the Sandcrest office I witnessed while Grant had a very difficult and disrespectful patient at the desk. Grant's professional demeanor and patience shone through: he handled a very difficult situation with kindness and respect despite receiving none of the same in return. I actually watched Grant coach another team member through a process on the system while handling this disrespectful patient…talk about multi-tasking!

"Every team member I’ve ever spoken with about Grant have only positive things to say: he is dedicated to his work, professional and kind to everyone, and knowledgeable about his role. CRH is truly blessed to have Grant as a member of
our team.”

Congratulations to Dr. Mark Henderson, who was named as an Advocacy Champion at the Association for Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Advocacy Summit in April! Advocacy Champions are ASCO volunteers who have made meaningful contributions to the Association’s advocacy activities throughout the year to ensure that every patient with cancer has access to high-quality cancer care no matter who they are or where they live.

Throughout the past year, Dr. Henderson has reached out to legislators and their staff regarding issues important to cancer patients (funding for cancer research, access to care, and continuation of telehealth services) both through the ASCO ACT network and through in-person advocacy day visits in Washington, D.C.

Congratulations to Holly Otte, Medical Assistant with CRH Nephrology and Hypertension, for being recognized with the Poppy Award!

Her nomination reads, "I have been a patient with Dr. Jasuja for some time. My health situation has not been a "normal" one, so I have needed communication with my providers in many different situations. Some during regular scheduled office hours and some communication just outside of the normal business day. Holly, Dr Jasuja’s MA, has always kept up on my situation, especially when I was in need of a particular medication or immediate clinical services. In my particular situation, the help that she has provided hasn't just been a one-time thing. She understands that when I (or my son) contact her that it isn't something that can necessarily wait for the next business day. Thanks to her dedication, I have been on the receiving end of a phone call from the doctor, indicating if I need to go to the ER or a clinic for treatment. I understand that patients require different levels of treatment but not levels of care. I can only speak for myself, but Holly understands my situation and when it is necessary for immediate care (and this may be a phone call from the Dr. to the appropriate department), I can rely on the service. We are very lucky to have this caliber of employee at CRH."

Thanks for your dedication to our patients, Holly!! 🥰
