Cancer Services Financial Advocate

What you need to know about this position:

• The Cancer Services Financial Advocate is responsible for assisting patients and/or families to access financial resources.
• The Advocate assists Social Services with guidance to those patients who may qualify for assistance through state, county, and federal programs.
• The Advocate is available to patients and families to answer questions regarding their insurance, give estimates of co-pay amounts, and to aid patients in obtaining prior
  authorizations for services.
• The Cancer Services Financial Advocate position has a base hourly rate of $18.55. Individual compensation is determined for this position through years of directly relevant experience. The hourly compensation is only a portion of the total rewards package, and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.
• This part-time position will require you to work Mondays and Fridays, 8:00AM-5:00PM.

What is required for this position:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• Pharmacy Technician, Medical Assistant, medical financial services, or medical billing experience required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Six months to one year related experience and/or training in customer service, medical terminology and medical insurance preferred.

One year experience or training working with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and/or Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) systems preferred.
